Borðeyri is a tiny town in the north-west of Iceland. It is a minor commercial centre for nearby farms. The population on 15 July 2018 was 16. The hamlet is a part of the municipality Vestur-Húnatatnssýsla. In Borðeyri there is a pre-school and an elementary school, a garage and a guesthouse.

HÁTÍÐNI 2019 takes place in the town’s old elementary school. The location is remote, but very beautiful. The schoolhouse was built with voluntary work from locals in the late nineties, and the idea was to have it a multi-functional space since there aren’t many children who live in the area. So it also works as a social center, and as a sleeping facility for artists and organizers during HÁTÍÐNI this summer.
