IDK IDA has dropped a moving video for Tomorrow’s Heartache: a haunting song released as part of three-piece EP Muscle Memory from fall 2019.
Ida Juhl, who’s behind IDK IDA, describes the track as a ‘celebration of the lugubrious euphoria’ that can spring from momentarily letting go of hardship. Most of the compositional work was carried out at ‘C is for Cookie’, a café that used to lie at Týsgata 8, 101 Reykjavík, and the vocals were recorded in R6013. “I really enjoy how much this piece is rooted in the community. Like so many other things neither the track nor video would have come to be without support”.
The video was shot by Pola Maria (eerie.mydriasis) with practical assistance by Ólöf Rún Benediktsdóttir just outside of Reykjavík on a mind-numbingly cold day in October. The process required multiple breaks in an old purple Toyota to re-heat, but the result has become both beautiful and emotional.
